How to Help

There are lots of ways to get involved with The Div. In whatever way you chose to contribute, you’re impacting the lives of young people in a meaningful way. We’re fighting to give every Oklahoma student access to computer science, but we can’t do this important work without our gracious community of supporters.

Donate

Financial contributions to The Div make it possible for us to run the programs that ensure every Oklahoma student has the opportunity to learn computer science — through camps and in schools where we’re establishing permanent courses and training teachers.

Volunteer

Want to inspire students? There are a variety of ways to give your time throughout the year. From helping out at youth camps, to speaking in local classrooms when teachers want their students to hear “real life” stories about working in technology (in person or via a video call!) or being a resource during an Hour of Code classroom event during Computer Science Education Week. Are you a teacher looking for volunteers? Email us here.

Teach a camp

We’re always looking to build our pool of facilitators who want to share their passion to help young people learn computer science skills. We’ve hosted camps to expose kids to everything from Scratch and Minecraft to Code.org puzzles and WordPress. This is a paid opportunity.

Advocate

There’s no greater champion for computer science education that passionate parents and teachers. Encourage local elementary school teachers to attend a one-day workshop on Computer Science Fundamentals. Tell middle school and high school teachers about our Professional Learning Programs. Ask your school to teach computer science with a letter to principals and/or administrators. Get started with the sample below provided by our friends at Code.org.

Sponsor a kid’s camp or a teacher PD workshop

We believe cost should never be a barrier to quality education opportunities. That’s why our camps are low-cost and scholarships are available to anyone who expresses a need. This is only possible because of generous supporters who partner with us to keep costs down. Opportunities to provide in-kind support like catering, event space, etc. are also available.
